Samantha Larkin entered to win one of the Sweet Itch Sets for her friend Debbie's pony Charlton. Samantha says:
"Charlton is a 12.2hh black pony, 21 years old, he is a brilliant lead rein pony and great for teaching children to ride. He still has his quirks though and knows if he gets you past his shoulder he can run off and you can't do anything! My friend has tried numerous rugs and supplements to try to control his itching, including Marmite sandwiches!!"
I think he deserves to be itch free in his old age and she deserves to win because she is a great friend and has not had a lot of luck recently and could do with one less thing to worry about.
She doesn't know I have entered her so this is the only picture I have of him."
Julie Frink entered for her mare Frankie (D'Francesca). Julie says:
"Frankie is an itchy 3 year old RPSI filly who has started showing more and more symptoms of bad Sweet Itch. Over the past 5 years the climate where I live in rural Northern California has changed a lot. The weather has become much warmer, and damper. The gnats and midges love this, and poor Frankie does not! She has been trying all sorts of herbal feeds, sprays, and ointments on her itchy skin. She has rubbed out half of her beautiful curly tail, is rubbing her neck, has chewed her under belly raw, and is rubbing the sides of her cheeks in misery. I am trying so hard to help her. It seems that in the USA finding good sweet itch rugs is NOT EASY! Frankie would be sooooo grateful to win a sweet itch rug from Snuggy Hoods.
Here is her darling photo, with me, just after my Bridal Shower last weekend. I get married in August and she will be at the wedding. I do not want her covered in itchy rubbed spots, and missing sections of her mane and tail for the wedding!"CONGRATULATIONS TO BOTH WINNERS AND A HUGE THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO TOOK TIME TO ENTER THE COMPETITION!
